Today we were all excited to just spend some time around camp. The girls headed out on a morning hike lead by our bishopric and the leaders stayed back and set up a spa for when they got back. They LOVED it! It was such a great reward since it was super hot on the hike!
Next we split up into groups and the leaders taught workshops based off of our camp theme Believe, Obey and Endure. Kim and I taught Believing in the Scriptures and our workshop ended up pretty good. We sent the girls on a scavenger hunt using the scriptures to tell them which way to go. We blindfolded one girl just to make it interesting and it ended up so challenging.
The pirate treasure!
It was funny because only a few girls ended up close to where the treasure was but luckily we were able to tie it into our lesson. We finished up with a craft and made really cute bottle cap necklaces with our camp theme on them.
Tish and Sandy tied everything together perfectly with their SOS lesson and we all were dying at the beginning with their awesome dance!
We had some free time so a bunch of us decided to go cliff jumping again!
Sarah, Allyson, & Katelin
We had a lot of fun today just hanging out playing games and being silly. I learned a whole bunch of camp traditions which was great since I only went twice as a YW. We ended the evening with Testimony Meeting and it was very eye opening. A lot of the girls shared very personal stuff that definitely clued me in to what these girls are really struggling with. It was interesting.
I forgot to mention that we are surrounded by young men camps so of course tonight we had to prank them. The leaders all joined in to "keep our girls safe" but we all had a blast! Just as me and Allie were almost up to one of the boys tents they scared us and I ended up taking a dive in the fire pit, OUCH!!! Thank goodness they hadn't had a fire or I would have had a lot more than just some pretty bad bruises!
We stayed up late around the camp fire listening to the amazingly talented Alapa sisters. They are amazing and it was the perfect ending to our camp and night.
