Girls Night

I was excited to finally get these two ladies out for a girls night with me tonight!  We started out getting pedicures at a way cute salon called Nailed.  The salon was adorable and Whitni and I laughed our butts of the entire time!  We were sad Stacy was on the other side getting her manicure but her nails ended up great too.  After our mani's/pedi's we headed next door to Trio and had a delicious dinner and great conversation. Its fun to just get together and have some fun together.  We finished dinner but were in no rush to get home so we headed to Target since pretty much everything else was closed.  We all ended up getting new bras and laughing a ton!  Such a fun night! 

Keeping a Personal Record

I taught the cute little Beehives today and my lesson was on the importance of record keeping and I have been looking forward to this lesson forever!  When I was looking over my lessons this year I was so excited to teach this one.  However the closer it got to the lesson the more frustrated I got about it!  I have struggled so much keeping a journal since sweet little Emmie joined our lives and I cant even begin to express how depressed I am about it.  I know I have forgotten so much and there is so much I will miss as I go back and try to catch up.  The more I have thought about how far behind I am the more I lose motivation to even try to work on it.  I am so unbelievably grateful for my called and my opportunity to teach my lesson today!  I have a new found outlook on my blog and I am even more determined to keep it current and keep working on this past year and try to catch up what I can.  We have had such an amazing and wonderful year and I cant wait to look back and blog about what I do remember ;).  But regardless of behing behind I am taking the challenge I gave my girls and will make it a priority to work on my blog/journal.  If by some odd chance anyone still checks my blog the more comments you write the better as I start out again to help keep me motivated!  Here is to the new and determined approach to staying on top of my blog :)

Cuddle Time

Its very rare that I get a few minutes to just lay down and cuddle with my handsome Mr Will but today I was lucky enough to get to!  Will has gotten so big this past year and has grown up so much.  He is loving summer and plays so hard that most days he needs a nap but wont sit still long enough to even consider one.  Today Emmie was napping and I convinced Will to lay down with me so I could tell him a story.  Well about 5 minutes into it we both fell asleep!  Mike happened to come home from work early and snapped a quick pic before I woke up :).

Of course the rest of the night Mike teased me about how hard my days must be and what I really do all day!  I WISH I got to nap every day!  For now I will enjoy my one afternoon of complete contentment ;).

Craft Time!

A few weeks ago Gammy Bev got Will a little wooden birdhouse to paint.  We didn't  get around to painting it while we were in Idaho and Will has been asking almost every day if he could paint it.  But waiting has worked out really well because over the weekend Mike discovered a birds nest in our awning and found 4 baby birds!  Will is ecstatic over the birds and insists on going out to talk to them and check on them several times a day.  Today really was the perfect time to paint his bird house and he was so excited to paint the little birds new home ;).

He was so focused the whole time, so cute!

Fathers Day Weekend Day 3

Phineas and Ferb were back again this morning.  They have made quite the home here and Will is loving looking for them all the time!

We got the cabin cleaned up and headed out pretty early so not much to post about today.  I sure do love my cute hubby and I am so lucky to have him as my kids Daddy.  They both adore him and he is so much help and such a great support to me.  Happy Fathers Day Mike!

Fathers Day Weekend Day 2

I forgot to mention yesterday that when we first arrived at the cabin I nearly got scared to death as we were unloading the Jeep.  We took the kids in and then as I headed back out I got just out of the garage and within a few feet of me hidden under the deck were what looked like two baby deer.  I only got a half a seconds look because they were bolting out just as I was exiting the garage and it completely scared me to death!  I ran up to the top part of the yard so I could try to spot what they were but without my glasses and with how fast they were I couldn't tell.  Well I had a feeling they would be back this morning so bright and early when Will and Emmie woke up I snuck outside to discover these two hiding out on the lower part of the deck stairs:

Goats?  What in the world?  We nick named them Phineas and Ferb and Will thought it was just about the coolest thing he has ever seen at the cabin.  I couldn't resist waking Gammy Stacy up so she could see too!

We spent the morning four wheeling all over the property:

Then Stacy watched the kids so Mike and I could go by ourselves and hike this afternoon and it was a lot of fun.  When we got back Gammy and Will were up to no good!

Will had a momentary breakdown because he didn't want to be sprayed back ;)

But we stripped him down to his undies and he had a blast!

We had such a fun and relaxing day!

Fathers Day Weekend Day 1

Mike decided for Fathers Day that he wanted to head South to the cabin for the weekend.  We have been stopping in Richfield since its pretty much half way and letting the kids (mainly myself!) stop and take a break from the long car ride.

Mike drove most of the way but we stopped and switched just in time for ME to get a speeding ticket!  Seriously I had only been driving a few miles and got picked up.  I am actually relieved I got the ticket instead of Mike and made for a great laugh!

Will has been so excited to give Mike his presents and has even went as far as showing Mike where they were, telling him what they were, and then making him take them out of hiding look at them!  What a stinker!  So we made another trip to the store and picked up a few more items to surprise Mike at least a little.  We got to the cabin in the evening and Will was so impatient waiting for Papa Brent and Gammy Stacy to get there so he could give the guys their presents.  Pretty much as soon as they walked through the door Will was rushing them to get to the gifts.

Emmie was not at all interested in the gifts and lately has a new fascination with trying to put the lens cap back on my camera while I am trying to use it.

Next up was Papa Brent's gift

We got him a remote control little boat, its awesome!

Of course the next half hour was spent testing out Mike's new toys and having fun with Will!

And Emmie continued to try to put the lens cap back on ;)

Tattoo Be Gone!

For years now I have really wanted to get my tattoo removed and finally decided it was time.  I have regretted the dumb thing since minutes after I got it and I am very excited to be starting this process!  It will take 9+ treatments and over a year but I can't wait to finally have it removed.  Wish me luck!

Birthday Cake Again!

Tonight little Miss Emmie got to have another birthday cake and little party.  Papa John, Yana, Vlad and Angie came up to wish this birthday girl happy birthday.  Emmie LOVED everyone signing happy birthday to her and was all giggles and smiles!

Emmies Big Gift and the Whomping Willow

We had such a fun time hanging out with everyone who made it to Emmie's 1st Birthday Party yesterday that we completely spaced giving her her big gift from Mommy and Daddy.  So we did it first thing this morning!

 She really already loves her new kitchen set and its the perfect size for her right now.  Her favorite part is opening and closing all the doors and moving all the toy dishes and food around in all the cubbies.  So cute!

Before Thompson's and Gammy Bev headed back home we played a new game called Whomping Willow (any HP fans out there?!) and it was seriously hilarious!  The person in the middle (the willow) gets blindfolded and while staying in the same spot reaches out and tries to touch everyone else while they change places.  We couldn't stop laughing!  It was actually a lot harder than it sounds!

I am still trying to grasp the fact that baby Emmie is offically a 1 year old!  It seems so unreal at times and this past year has absolutely just flown by.  Emmie is the best baby and has always been a go with the flow type of kiddo.  She has always been a great nurser, amazing sleeper, and just an overall happy baby.  I feel like so much of her first year slipped by as I tried to adapt to being a mother of two and struggling with Post Partum Anxiety.  I hope when Emmie is older she will forgive me for all the ways I was a different mother to her in her first year than I was to Will.  I really did do my best but I get worried she will think I failed her.  Just know baby Emmie I love you so very much and I tried hard to do the best I could!

Emmie is such an adorable baby and everywhere I go people constantly comment on how cute she is.  It is so fun!  She really is a doll with gorgeous eyes, long eye lashes, and perfect little eyebrows.  Her whole face lights up when she smiles or giggles and she adores her big brother Will.  Emmie hardly ever cries but definitely has a temper so when she gets mad watch out!  

The weather didn't cooperate today so we ended up having to keep everything inside.  I adapted what I originally had planned and I am happy with how things turned out!

We had such a fun time celebrating Emmie's first year and appreciate all the love and support we received.  We sure do love baby Emmie and are so grateful she joined our little family!!!
