Thanksgiving in Idaho

It was our turn to head to Idaho Falls this year for Thanksgiving and we had such a fun trip! Will decided NOT to nap the whole drive so we found lots of silly things to do to keep him entertained.

His favorite was my sunglasses:
I need to be better about remembering to take pictures when I go home. I didn't get one pic on actual Thanksgiving day :( We had a wonderful traditional meal with my Mom and Dad and Mike's friend Denis joined us too. It was very yummy, thanks Mom!

On Friday Aimee and I got up bright and early to hit some Black Friday sales. It was insane! I almost got ran over with a shopping cart and had a major case of the giggles at about 4 am but we survived. With the help of my cute friend Genessa I even managed to get everything on my list! Now that we know the ins and outs we are amped up for next year :)

I love going home and watching Will play with his cousins. It is so cute to watch him try to keep up and be a big kid.

I love it!

Its begining to look a lot like Christmas.............

At The Scott House!I love Mike's pained expression here :)

Will thinks the lights on the tree are candles and tries to blow them out:

He also has problems not touching:

He even kisses them in order to touch them:

And eventually head butts them too:
Where does this kid come up with this stuff?!!!

A little like Mommy

Most of the time people always tell me that Will is a carbon copy of his Daddy. Not just his looks but the way he acts, examines things, and concentrates on how things work. It is so stinkin cute! He is a complete BOY and always finding trouble and doing dangerous things, which I KNOW he got from his Daddy too ;) But I do LOVE it because I want him to grow up and be just like his Daddy!

But today I had to laugh when I saw a little bit of me peak through while he was playing with his cars:

Milton needs to play too:

This is Will's concentration face and I just absolutely LOVE it:

Notice all the cars lined up facing the same way, nice and straight!
"What Mom?":
Trying not to smile:

Still fighting the smile:

The final formation of the cars:
Seriously! I promise I didn't touch a single one!

I seriously love this kid so much!
I am glad to see he picked up a few of my traits too ;)

Will's TV Chair

Doesn't look too comfy but I guess it works!

This is one of my favorite expressions Will does.
We call it the 'what you lookin at' face :)

But I LOVE you Daddy

Lately Will has been being super cute when Mike goes to leave in the morning for work :) He will start to get upset and just wants Daddy to hold him and give him loves before he leaves. It is so adorable!

I seriously LOVE these two!

Happy 50th Uncle Dale

We got to surprise Uncle Dale tonight in Heber for his 50th birthday! It was a lot of fun to see Mike's family and wish Dale a happy birthday. Dale is A LOT like my Dad and was always such a great example and influence for Mike growing up. Since I have been scanning old negatives I thought I would post this one from Lake Powell that was taken sometime before Mike's mission.

Happy Birthday!

Kourt's Wedding

My cute friend Kourtney got married yesterday in St George so Ashley, Heather, and I made a quick trip down to share in her special day. It was the our first 'white wedding' in the temple that any of us girls had attended and we all were pretty confused in the beginning! Ha ha :) The ceremony was so sweet and the sealer said some really touching things. Needless to say I was crying my little eyes out (like I do at every wedding).

Luke & Kourtney:
Kourtney has the BEST taste and everything was so gorgeous and perfect. It totally made us girls want wedding do-overs (should I mention the topsy turvy hair-do from my wedding?)!

The Girls:

Me, Jenny, Kourt, Ash, & Heather

Congrats Kourt & Luke!

Deja Vu

Yep, 3 refinery fires in the 2 years we have lived in our house. SCARY! I really wish we would have realized we were buying a home right next to the refineries. LESSON LEARNED!

The Silver Eagle Refinery had another explosion today but this time I actually heard it and felt it. It was so insane and scary. I was in the kitchen when all of sudden I heard a really loud boom and shake, then the power went out. It was so loud that I looked in the garage to see if something fell. Since the Holly Refinery wasn't announcing an emergency on their PA system I wasn't getting too worried. I noticed that one of the smoke stacks at Holly had a really big flame and dark black smoke (which is pretty unusual) so I jumped on Facebook to check things out. There I found this pic from one of my friends on the East bench in Bountiful:
I found out that the Silver Eagle Refinery had an explosion and decided to head to Brent & Stacy's just to be safe. I got Will and Bella loaded up and headed to West Jordan. On the way I could see the dark black smoke from Silver Eagle and the story was all over the radio. About half way to West Jordan Ashley called me (her hubby is a fire fighter) and let me know that the fire was contained and they were just waiting for it to burn out.

I spent a few hours at Brent & Stacy's and then headed home. I did learn that the reason Holly's smoke stack had such a big flame was that when 1 of the 3 local refineries has an emergency the other 2 do an after burn to get rid of everything they can 'just in case'. So I guess whenever I see the smoke stack shoot up I am going to take of running to the in-laws!

Everyone in my neighborhood heard and felt the explosion but luckily none of the house's in our area were affected. But the neighborhood South of us (the closest to the Silver Eagle Refinery) was not so lucky.

Seriously so scary. Pretty much every house in the neighborhood had some type of damage. I am so glad no one was hurt and so thankful our home was safe and protected. The funny thing is that we all received a letter in the mail today inviting us to a 'Safety Meeting' to discuss the last fire the refinery had. Ha ha, something tells me the meeting is going to be packed!
