Say Bye Bye!!!

To the 'RACIN CIV'

I have loved my little civic and it was little hard to say good bye to it.  It was the first car I bought brand new, the first car I paid completely off, and it has truly been a great car.

But it was time to find her a new owner :)

Take good care of her Whitni!!!

NYC Day 5 {tuesday}

We have had such a fun time in New York and it was bittersweet to spend our last day here today.  On one hand we could stay in the city for another week but on the other we couldn't wait to get home to our little Will!

One last pic from our hotel room:

Today was FREEZING!  The wind was blowing so hard and it was bitter cold.  So cold it rivaled Nauvoo in December cold.  But we braved it and walked to Ground Zero:

We also made another stop at the Trinity Church:

The New York Stock Exchange & Wall Street:

The Charging Bull:
Next we were lucky enough to get to go on the Federal Reserve Bank tour thanks to Mike's banking buddy.  We got last minute clearance and it was so cool to see!  We got to go on a tour of the bank and then to the basement vault room and got to see rows and rows of gold bars.  It was so crazy!  We had a lot of fun and it ended up being one of our favorite things we did on the trip.

After the tour we wandered through Federal Hall and then ended up back at the New York Stock Exchange:

Finally we headed back to our hotel and grabbed our luggage and a town car and headed to the airport.  I had such an amazing time in New York and it was so fun to experience with my cute hubby.  It was a great getaway alone before baby Emmie comes but I think we both missed Will like crazy!
Thanks for the amazing trip babe!!!

NYC Day 4 {monday} Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!!  I couldn't have asked for a more romantic day with my honey and LOVED spending the whole day with him especially in New York.  I am pretty sure I have the best hubby ever and love him more and more all the time.  Mike is such a good husband and father and works so hard to support both me and Will.  He loves to spoil us both and we are one lucky little family!

For breakfast this morning we headed to the Hells Kitchen area of New York to grab some yummy pastries at Amy's Bread.  It was a pretty interesting area but worth it for the delicious start to the day!

Our next adventure was something I think both Mike and I will always remember!  We have been using the subway for the past couple of days and thanks to Mike haven't had any problems.  Compared to the DC metro the NY subway is seriously confusing so I have been really glad I can rely on Mike to get us where we need to go.  This morning after Amy's Bread we hoped back on the subway to make our way to the Natural History Museum and at our transfer stop we ended up having to walk, and walk, and walk, for like EVER!  Normally that would have been no big deal but of course I had to pee really bad and there are no restrooms in the subway system (not like I would have used them anyway) so the more we walked the more I honestly thought I was going to pee my pants!  It was miserable.  I apologized in advance to Mike because I was certain I wasn't going to make it, especially since just when we thought we had reached our train we ended up having to turn the corner and keep on walkin!  I am happy to say I DIDN'T wet my pants and was very relieved to finally make it to the museum!

Natural History Museum

We were kinda disappointed since unlike the Smithsonian in DC the museum was really nothing like the movie portrays in Night at the Museum.  It was still a cool museum just not what we were expecting at all.

For our next stop we walked through Central Park:

We stopped at Strawberry Fields (where John Lennon was shot)

One thing we love about NY is all the street vendors.  They are everywhere so when you need a drink or a treat you usually don't have to look very hard :)

We relaxed by the Bethesda Gardens:

And ate our yummy Valentines cookies from Amy's Bread:

For lunch we headed to Serendipity with hopes of missing the evening crowd and were lucky we didn't have to wait very long!

When we finally made it in I was pretty surprised at how old it was and how dirty it felt.  I honestly couldn't let myself think about it or it would have totally ruined the experience for me!  I do have to say I had a 'life changing' entree for lunch though!  I ordered a chicken salad sandwich not really expecting much and when the waiter brought it out with a curry sauce to put on it was a little skeptical.  It was seriously delicious!!  It was the best sandwich I think I have ever had!  Mike didn't believe me until he tried a bit and was blown away by how good it was.  So next time your in New York you have to try it, just don't pay attention to the dust and dirt :).
And of course we finished with a Frozen Hot Chocolate:

We happened to find a Dylan's Candy Bar and the shop was so cute! Its a good thing SLC doesn't have one or I would go broke getting candy for parties and gifts!

Next we took a cab through the Park Avenue area which was fun to see where all the super rich people live and shop.  It would definitely be where I would want to live :).

We just had to go to FAO Scwartz :)

And then were bummed after we found the LOVE statue is now covered in scaffolding :(

(ha ha notice the hobo sitting between the V and the E)

We decided to do a tour of the NBC Studios:

The tour was a lot of fun.  We got to see where the tape Dr Oz and SNL.  Mike even volunteered to be a news anchor and we were all shocked because he did such a great job!  It was so funny.

Our next stop was Carnegie Hall where we were hoping to check things out but were unable to because of a show there tonight :(.  So we headed to Times Square again to wait for our dinner reservation.
It was so fun to people watch again, especially since its Valentines Day.  We saw a wedding, lots of proposals, and tons of people making out ha ha!  Mike planned an romantic dinner at an awesome steakhouse called AJ Maxwells and it was definitely pretty tasty!

And for the perfect way to end our Valentines Day in New York we went to The Top of the Rock (at the Rockefeller Center) for an amazing view of the city.  Again Mike was scared out of his mind but it was so romantic and just perfect!

Our night wasn't complete though until we grabbed a cab and Mike ended up having to tell our Bangladesh cabbie how to get to our hotel!  It was hilarious!  I kinda felt like we were getting punked :).

Seriously the best Valentines Day EVER!
